The ocean is mutating in a uniquely dramatic way.

Driven by self-interest, humans carry out their activities relentlessly: natural gas, oil, and radioactive isotopes are injected into the sea; indigestible waste is cast into its depths.

Under human influence, the ocean begins its own modernization. The primordial ecosystems that have endured for hundreds of millions of years are unraveling.

The history of the ocean is being rewritten—the curtain falls on the once-glorious coral architectures, and in their place, plastic playgrounds rise in silence.

A new chapter of ecosystem emerges: synthetic plankton, synthetic jellyfish, synthetic fish schools—cybernetic lifeforms of the new age step onto their artificial stage.

With the vast circulation of currents and microscopic exchanges between organisms, synthetic food is being delivered by the waves to the table of this new era.

Post-humanity is undergoing transformation, merging with the new synthetic marine ecology.

And still—humans, driven by their own interests, carry on.
